We had wine tasting :) It was all about bordeaux wines.
A Bordeaux wine is any wine produced in the Bordeaux region of France. Average vintages produce over 700 million bottles of Bordeaux wine, ranging from large quantities of everyday table wine, to some of the most expensive and prestigious wines in the world. Bordeaux wine is made by more than 8,500 producers or châteaux.
Then we learnt about the classification of the wine, called: The Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855 resulted from the 1855 Exposition Universelle de Paris, when Emperor Napoleon III requested a classification system for France's best Bordeaux wines which were to be on display for visitors from around the world. Brokers from the wine industry ranked the wines according to a château's reputation and trading price, which at that time was directly related to quality.
The original rankings were:
- Château Lafite, now Château Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac
- Château Latour, Pauillac
- Château Margaux, Margaux
- Haut-Brion, now Château Haut-Brion, Pessac, Graves
- Mouton, now Château Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
SATURDAY, MAY 5, 2012.
Took me SAT in the morning, In the middle of no where lol. But despite that I think it went well.
Then we had our Bal du Printemps (spring Ball).
They held it at a nice hotel here in town, called Montreux Palace. We got all dressed up and prepared to have a good night :)
Here is my dress, the theme was 'Black Swan' - Dress code: black or white. Guess what? I'm the Tropical Swan. HAHA!
It started with cocktails, followed by dinner and dancing :)
We decided to go down by the lake and relax.
We bought some champagne, orange juice and strawberries. Enjoyed mimosas on the edge of the lake!
