Paris and Final Exam

How was your week?
Mine was awesome!!!

THURSDAY, MAY 17, 2012.

This is a public holiday is Europe called Ascension.

We went and visited the Arc de Triomphe and climbed to the top. We had an amazing view of the city of paris.

Then I saw The Luxor Obelisk. The egyptian Obelisk stands at the center of the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France.

We then took a nice walk down the Champs-Élysées to Notre Damn.

Guess what they were also having on that day the Fete du Pain 2012 (Party of Bread). Apparently the bread at the event was the best in paris, baguettes, croissants, pain au chocolat, ect.
Pure DELICIOUSNESS!

FRIDAY, MAY 18, 2012.

We went and saw the Eiffel tower, but guess what it didn't end there we got the royal treatment skipped the lines (normally 4hrs) and toured inside right up the third floor.

Well you know i'm with Aunty Katriona, so we had to have champagne on the eiffel tower at 2pm haha.

After we went to the Louvre Museum. It is one of the world's largest museums and the world's most visited art museum.

I saw the Monna Lisa (La Joconde in french), the famous painting by the Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci :)

That night went to dinner at Jean-Yves brother and I got to see first hand what I have been studying about French table manners and eating customs/ traditions... differences between our customs and being british. The times are different, the way the cutlery is set is different, the eating style is different.  Pretty Amazing :)

SATURDAY, MAY 19, 2012

We went to The Pere Lachaise Cemetery is thought to be the worlds most visited cemetary. All types of famous people are buried here, from writers, to scientists, musicians, ect.

Then we went to Montmartre, Which is home to The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica. It is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France.

Guess my luck? It was Museum Night, all museums open late and are free.

Then we went to the Musée Rodin, it holds the works of French sculptor Auguste Rodin. The Museum has his famous sculptures like: The Thinker, The Kiss and The Gates of Hell, all displayed in the museum's huge garden

Around midnight we went to the Panthéon, where they have the Foucault pendulum hangs. It is a simple device conceived as an experiment to demonstrate the rotation of the Earth.

Thought you would wanna see where I get fresh morning pastry, baguette, pain au Chocolat, Croissants. Yummy :)
BIG THANK YOU to Jean-Yves and Aunty Katriona! you guys sure showed me a great time and I really appreciate it :)
