Some friends and I decided to go back to Lucerne. There is more to the city that we couldn't get to see at night.
It is carving of a dying Lion.' It was done in 1820-21, to commemorate the swiss guards who were killed in 1972 during the French Revolution.
Then we continued to view the nine towers.
The Musegg Wall is a part of the old rampart walls which was built in 1386, the wall is still entirely intact.
The nine towers are known by the names Maennli, Nolli, Luegisland, Heu, Pulver, Allenwinden, Dachli,Schirmer and Zyt tower. All these towers are historic site museum and are the portion of the old city of Altstadt.
Then you got to know face paintings are for big kids too :)
In this carnival not only the performers had costumes and masks but the normal people who come out alone of with there families to support have their own costumes.
The celebration lasts for a week starting on Feb 16- 22, on sat it ended around 4pm. We just relaxed for the remainder of the afternoon, got a pizza and took our train back to Montreux.
